Academic Work is a staffing and recruitment company with over 20 years of experience. Since 1998, it has helped more than 130,000 young professionals find a job and start their careers, while also fulfilling businesses' recruitment needs and helping them grow. Academic Work is the second largest white collar recruitment agency in Sweden, represented in 6 markets in Europe. Besides bringing companies and young professionals together, Academic Work, together with its sister company Academy, offers training and development programs in areas where there is a shortage of skillset.

Academic Work's sustainability scope

Academic Work strives to be a sustainable company, not only in its internal operations but throughout its entire supply chain. Active in 6 countries and with 3,000+ employees, managing 2,000 suppliers manually became a huge effort.

Before Worldfavor, Academic Work collected internal sustainability data manually in Excel sheets and managed every supplier assessment manually via email. This caused a lot of time spent on administrative work and complex communication with many suppliers from whom data was required. Time needed to be saved and administrative work lightened.

The best way to do this was to find a system that collects and stores sustainability data in one place and move away from managing data manually in Excel. Another challenge that needed to be solved was keeping track of supplier communication – what questions had been answered or needed to be followed up.

Why Worldfavor?

After researching sustainability management options, Academic Work chose Worldfavor for the simplicity of use and ability to customise the perimeters in which relevant data is analyzed. In order to solve these challenges, Academic Work implemented Worldfavor’s Sustainability Management platform to help gather and manage all sustainability data – from all offices – in one place.

Academic Work also uses Worldfavor’s Sustainable Sourcing solution in order to help manage data and mitigate risk throughout its supply chain. Worldfavor’s platform automates Academic Work’s communication between the company and its suppliers by sending questions to the relevant person and automating follow-ups when information is left incomplete.

This meant no more time sending questions and follow-ups via email to every single supplier or manually filling out Excel sheets with information, with countless versions to keep up with. The huge administrative load that hindered Academic Work from progressing with their sustainability work was now automated in Worldfavor.
