We spoke with Melita Ringvold, Director of Sustainability and Communication at Kredinor. Together with her team, she is navigating the evolving landscape of compliance, ESG reporting, stakeholder expectations, and internal engagement. As demands around transparency and responsible business continue to grow, so does Kredinor’s commitment to meeting them in a structured, scalable, and forward-looking way.

Challenge

A new law, a manual process, and limited reach Kredinor faced mounting pressure to comply with Norway’s Transparency Act, fast. Their supplier screening process was manual, time-consuming, and excluded many smaller vendors.

Solution

With Worldfavor’s AI-driven screening, Kredinor quickly assessed suppliers using public data - expanding coverage, cutting manual work, and strengthening transparency.

Result

500+ suppliers screened without extra staff Kredinor now screens more vendors, prioritizes by actual risk, and supports compliance with ease - laying the groundwork for responsible sourcing powered by AI.

“We’ve gone from manually screening around 300 suppliers to screening over 500, without adding extra staff. The AI screening helps us focus on actual risk, not just contract size.”

Challenges

When Norway’s Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven) came into effect, Kredinor needed to act fast. The new regulation placed clear expectations on companies to map, assess, and manage human rights risks in their supply chains. Kredinor’s existing process for supplier due diligence was resource-heavy and mainly focused on larger vendors, meaning smaller suppliers were often left out of the equation.

The ESG team saw the need for a more scalable, risk-based approach. They needed a solution that could automate time-consuming steps, support compliance, and provide a clearer overview of where the real risks were hiding.

Solution

Kredinor chose Worldfavor to take its supplier sustainability work to the next level. With the platform’s AI-powered baseline assessment, they were able to quickly assess suppliers using public and compliance-related data. What once took hours of manual work could now be done in a fraction of the time.

This shift allowed Kredinor to include a much broader range of suppliers in their assessments, without adding extra staff. Smaller vendors, previously overlooked due to resource limitations, were now part of the process. The team also found it much easier to document their due diligence, which helped strengthen transparency toward external stakeholders. Internally, the procurement team quickly saw the value too and is preparing to start using the platform themselves.

Result

Since adopting Worldfavor, Melita and her team at Kredinor has significantly scaled their supplier due diligence. The team now screens more than 500 suppliers per year, up from 300, all without hiring additional staff. With better insight into which suppliers carry the highest risks, the ESG team is able to work more proactively and prioritize where it matters most.

Perhaps most importantly, the shift has allowed Kredinor to move from a size-based approach to a truly risk-based one. This not only supports compliance with the Transparency Act but also lays the foundation for more responsible sourcing in the future.

Looking ahead, Kredinor is eager to explore even more AI capabilities. One feature they’re particularly excited about is the potential for AI to surface relevant insights from media sources, articles, and public databases to support a deeper understanding of human rights, labor conditions, and environmental impact.

Their advice to others is simple: come prepared. Having a clear picture of your due diligence process before engaging with Worldfavor makes it easier to ask the right questions and ensure the platform fits your needs.

Scaling responsible sourcing doesn’t have to mean adding complexity. With the right tools in place, you can do more with less and build a stronger foundation for sustainable growth.
